Located at 488 University Avenue in downtown Palo Alto, this project involves the restoration and renovation of the historic 57,000 SF Hotel President, an iconic six-story Spanish Colonial Revival building designed by Birge Clark in 1929. The work is reinstating the property’s original hotel use by converting 75 vacant apartments into 100 Graduate Hotel guestrooms and reimagining first-floor retail spaces to support the lobby, lounge, and public restrooms, with the roof level enhanced by an exterior F&B amenity. The project includes ongoing improvements, replacement of deteriorating roof pavers, and preparation of upgrades to the first-floor meeting spaces and all guestroom bathrooms.
