The Ferry Building Marketplace is a historic landmark and bustling food hall located where Market Street meets the Embarcadero, along San Francisco’s waterfront. Constructed in 1898, its iconic clock tower (inspired by Seville’s Giralda) makes it one of the city’s most recognizable architectural features. After the 1989 earthquake, the building was restored in 2003 and was transformed into a vibrant marketplace with artisan food shops, restaurants, and local purveyors. The scope of work included demolition and haul-out for two existing tenant suites totaling 2,180 square feet to make way for two new retail tenants. The demolition work was only allowed to be done between 10 pm and 7 am for the three week, fast-paced construction timeframe.
