Nelson Diaz

Project Engineer

Growing up in the flatlands of Antelope Valley, Nelson was fascinated by the skyscrapers of nearby Los Angeles. A passion for design and engineering led him to the structural engineering program at UC San Diego, where Nelson developed an interest in building and information modeling (BIM). Information modeling provides a perspective on the entire construction process while still in the preconstruction phase, yielding valuable information for understanding time and material needs. That kind of data is essential to Nelson’s job as a project engineer, a role which combines project estimating and communications with subcontractors. With every project he takes on, Nelson enjoys being able to see what’s possible; he loves tackling complex problems and coming up with elegant solutions. “It’s always about being open to challenges.”
